The terminal is jointly developed by Hutchison Ports, CMA Terminals and Cosco Shipping Ports.Located at Sokhna Port on the Gulf of Suez, Red Sea Container Terminals started official operations, coinciding with the arrival of the vessel CMA CGM Iron, operated by CMA CGM.
This project signifies a pivotal milestone in Egypt’s maritime development, underpinned by a 30-year concession agreement with the Egyptian government.
The terminal operates as a critical gateway connecting Asia, Africa, and Europe within the Suez Canal Economic Zone, with the capacity to accommodate the largest container vessels. Its design aims to enhance international shipping operations and improve transport efficiency for Egyptian importers and exporters.
